An understated yet quietly luxurious hotel in Margaret River's wine region with excellent amenities and an intimate feel
With just 22 romantically secluded rooms and suites, Cape Lodge has the feel of a boutique private country estate with all the facilities of a top class luxury hotel. Perfectly located at the heart of Margaret River’s wine region, the hotel is nestled in 40 acres of manicured parkland, garden and lakes with its own 8-acre vineyard producing fine Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz exclusively for hotel guests. And with only 40 guests being welcomed at any one time, you’ll feel at home at this intimate and stylish retreat.
Superb dining comes courtesy of a magnificently positioned lake side restaurant ranked 4th in the world for food by CondeNastTraveller magazine, accompanied by a 14,000 bottle wine cellar. This beautiful hotel couldn’t be more perfect for wine lovers: as well as the hotel’s own vineyard, neighbouring wineries include Vasse Felix, Moss Wood, Pierro and Cullen.

We particularly love the VineyardResidence: a detached cottage sitting privately on its own three-acre plot with views across formal gardens to a private lake and putting green, yet just a short stroll to the facilities of the main lodge. It has three bedrooms including a stunning master suite and all the creature comforts you would expect. An outdoor dining area is equipped with a BBQ and there is also a separate guest house should you require additional space.

Dining at the restaurant overlooking the lake, featuring seasonal local and home-grown produce from the hotel’s kitchen garden, local farms and the nearby ocean.

Cookery classes from Executive Chef Michael Elfving who has worked in some of the world’s best kitchens including Heston Blummenthals’ Fat Duck and Cheong Liew’s The Grange. Michael has designed a calendar of cooking classes where you will learn how to present a superb three course menu which can be easily recreated at home.
Exploring the natural surroundings. Extending 138 kilometres from Cape Lodge Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin, the region is recognised as one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots with its spectacular coastline, pristine beaches, world class surf, majestic karri forests, limestone caves and coastal trails.
Food and wine tasting: the Margaret River area has been voted as Australia’s BestGourmetRegion with its abundance of fresh ingredients, artisan producers, verdant farmlands, awarding winning restaurants, wineries, organic olive oil plantations and small natural beer and cider makers.
