Activities

Diving

Members of PADI or other dive organizations can book their dives at Anakao Ocean Lodge & Spa. In high season periods, it is recommended to book well in advance. For those who have never experienced the peace and solitude of a dive, this is the ideal opportunity to try it out.

Boat & BBQ

Journey to one of the nearby islands, explore the beaches of Maromena and mangroves, before ending your day with a barbecue of fish caught that afternoon and cooked on a wood fire on one of the most picturesque beaches in the region. Perhaps the most romantic experience in the entirety of Madagascar.

Private Island Sunset

A must for any honeymooners, you’ll leave by boat in the late afternoon to reach the island of Nosy Satrana. Here you’ll sit sipping sparkling wine silently enjoying the sunset.

Whale watching

Visit between July to September and you’ll be in prime time to see the magical Humpback Whale Migration. Take a day trip out into a stretch of the Mozambique Channel, to admire the fantastic creatures as they partake in one of the longest migratory journeys of any mammal on Earth.

Deep sea fishing

Take a canoe or motorboat out with a local fisherman,  before having Chef cook what you catch for a well-earned dinner.

Tsimanampetsotse Park

Tsimanampetsotsa National Park is a site of enormous biological diversity, making it one of the ten most important reserves in Madagascar. Here you’ll find the only saltwater lake in Madagascar, and discover the skeletons of prehistoric animals in the numerous caves.

Getting There

Fly to Antananarivo and internal flight to Toliara Airport, from here it’s a 20-minute transfer.
