Burma's original and iconic luxury cruise and the only way to experience this incredible country in unrivalled and unadulterated opulence.
Cruise Options
The Road to Mandalay primarily operates a three night cruise between the towns of Bagan and Mandalay alternating between upstream and downstream cruises along The Irrawaddy River. Guests are treated to visits to minority villages, striking scenery and a really 5* experience within Burma.
The cruise also operates marginally longer options at various points throughout the year. A highlight of these being an 11 night cruise north of Mandalay with visits to the remote outposts of Bhamo and Katha, featured in George Orwell’s book Burmese Days.
Dining
On Road To Mandalay you’ll find an enticing range of dishes, including Burmese, Thai, Indonesian, Indian and European specialities. Early morning tea and coffee is available in your cabin on request, followed by a full breakfast. An extensive buffet-style lunch is served on the observation deck or in the restaurant. Dinners are served in the restaurant and offer a choice of succulent dishes to cater to all tastes. Carefully selected wines are also available to complement your meal.

Exploring
The Road to Mandalay cruise offers a range of excursions during its docking points all with expert guides. The cruise can obviously also be fitted in with a wider touring itinerary of Burma which is a popular option. The longer cruise allow people to sample the diversity of the country without packing and unpacking each day.
Map and travel information
Burma’s remoteness in most terms means that the country is not the easiest to reach, although that seems to be rapidly changing. Flights into Rangoon operate from most Asian hubs including Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. Middle Eastern flights from Dubai and Doha are now also operating.
