Let us take you to some Europe’s most beautiful cultural venues in 2021.

We love a fly and flop holiday, travel to a sporting spectacular and the wonder of the natural world. But we also love a trip that takes us to the very pinnacle of culture and heritage.

Whether that’s a celebration of the 150th anniversary of Aida at the Arena di Verona, the heritage of the Concordia Ball in Vienna or the ultimate Christmas experience of the Nutcracker at St Petersburg’s Mikhailovsky Theatre, we’ve got 2021 travel experiences that any culture-lover would be delighted to find under their tree this year.

Give the gift of culture and travel to others, or yourself, this Christmas, with Savile Row Travel.

Vienna at Dawn

The Concordia Summer Ball, Vienna – September 2021

Dress code: Evening Elegance. This says it all. The summer ball takes place in the state rooms of the Vienna City Hall and in the arcade courtyard. It’s the perfect opportunity to dust off your finest floor-length gown and dinner-suit for a night of glamour and Austrian culture. Think Strictly, but infinitely more sophisticated. For a taste what to expect at the Concordia Summer Ball, watch here.

We suggest that you stay for 3 nights at the Intercontinental Vienna.  You’ll have ample time to visit Mozart’s house and observe a training session at The Spanish Riding School. Also included is a pre-ball Viennese Waltz lesson for those who want to find their dancing-feet.

Prices start from £970 per person, based on 2 travelling with return BA flights from Heathrow.

Arena di Verona

Aida at the Verona Opera Festival – June 2021

2021 is the 150th anniversary of Verdi’s opera Aida. And where better to listen to this this timeless story of love and betrayal than in the outdoor Arena di Verona.

On arrival in Verona, get your bearings with a morning walking tour of the city, taking in the famous Juliet balcony, Piazza delle Erbe and the impressive Arche Scalgiere. In the evening witness a breath-taking performance of Aida by Verdi at the incredible ampitheatre which dates back to the 1st century and is the largest open air theatre in the world.

We’ve included a visit Valpolicella, east of Lake Garda, to explore the beautiful region and try its delicious wines. Enjoy a picnic lunch after a tour of a local winery and take in the fantastic views of Verona and the lake. One of Italy’s finest wine regions, Valpolicella is home to a number of incredible family-owned wineries amongst the delightful villages of the area.

Stay for 2 nights at the new boutique hotel Palazzo Verona located in the centre of romantic Verona on the Corso di Porta Borsari.

Prices start from £1550 per person, based on 2 travelling with return BA flights from Heathrow.

Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, St Petersburg

The Nutcracker at The Mikhailovsky Theatre, St Petersburg – December 2021

First performed in 1892 in St Petersburg, The Nutcracker is a Christmas tradition for ballet-lovers. To see it in it’s home city would be a dream come true. St Petersburg is a magical city, unlike any other. Neither European nor Asian, it is simply Russian. That might sound odd, but you’ll know what we mean when you get there.

Steeped in history and heritage, enjoy the finest in Russian luxury, we’ve included a guided city tour taking you to the the Faberge Museum, the State Hermitage Museum and St Issac’s Cathedral. Described as the Venice of the North, perhaps take a boat trip along the waterways to see this beautiful city from a different perspective.

Stay for 3 nights in the heart of the city on the Moika River, at the Kempinski Hotel, an aristocratic mansion built in 1853. Flanked by Palace Square and the Hermitage museum, the hotel is just five minutes’ walk from Nevsky Prospect and close to all major sights and shopping.

Prices start from £1350 per person, based on 2 travelling with return BA flights from Heathrow.
