Savile Row Travel

Situated in northern Thailand, the Golden Triangle region straddles the Thai, Laotian and Burmese borders.

Separated by the banks of the mighty Mekong River, this region was once infamous for its copious opium production but is now home to fascinating minority tribal villages and impressive Buddhist temples dotted about the hillsides.

The experience of waving goodbye to modern civilisation as you meander through the dense bamboo jungle into your new surroundings is reminiscent of a bygone era and fuels the notion of adventure and exploration. The dramatic landscape makes for the perfect backdrop to watching the sunset whilst sipping a chilled glass of champagne, either in or out of the hot tub.

The Four Seasons Tented Camp is a collection of just fifteen incredibly well appointed and ultra luxurious tents, only accessible by riverboat, together with one of the finest elephant camps in Asia.  A formidable wine cellar accompanies the fine cuisine served in the property’s Nong Yao restaurant, alongside a menu that draws inspiration from the three surrounding countries as well as nodding to western tastes. Private boat cruises can be taken along the Mekong River to visit minority hill tribe villages and experience life in rural Thailand at close quarters.  The resort offers cookery courses, trekking and visits to unique Buddhist ceremonies together with nature talks and lectures on Thai culture and customs.

Deluxe Tent

On arrival at the camp any fears of missing modern amenities or comfort are quickly allayed as the features inside your tent would not be out of place in a top 5* city hotel. Complete with free standing hand-hammered copper baths, a personal pillow menu and wifi, it quickly becomes apparent that this is a Four Seasons property and every minute detail has been well taken care of. Living areas are spacious and feature a bath with an outdoor rain shower adjacent to this. To preserve the unique sounds of the forest around you, TVs and radios are notable for their absence.
