Zambia is a landlocked country in southern Africa, known for its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and abundant wildlife. The country is home to the iconic Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, located on the Zambezi River, which forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Zambia’s vast national parks, such as South Luangwa and Kafue, attract visitors for safaris featuring a variety of animals, including elephants, lions, and leopards. The country has a mixed economy, with copper mining being a significant industry, as Zambia holds some of the largest copper reserves in the world. Additionally, Zambia boasts a growing agricultural sector. Despite challenges related to poverty and infrastructure development, the nation has made strides in political stability and economic growth since gaining independence from British colonial rule in 1964. Its capital, Lusaka, serves as the country’s political and economic hub.

Kafue is Zambia’s largest national park, comprising two distinct sections, of which the northern section is the biggest and shelters the highest concentrations of game. Resident species include elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and antelope, while hippos and waterbirds thrive in the wetlands of the Busanga Plains. This marshy wilderness extends across approximately 750 square kilometres which, during the rainy season, becomes a veritable deluge. Once the rains cease and the waters subside, a blanket of lush, grassy vegetation if left behind, attracting vast numbers of antelope and other grazers. Several camps are situated in Northern Kafue, offering a variety of accommodation, ranging from budget to luxury.
Spend 3 nights at Chisa Busanga Camp
Immerse yourself in the heart of the Busanga Plains at Chisa Busanga Camp. Inspired by local weaver bird nests, our elevated Nest rooms blend seamlessly with nature, offering panoramic views of the vast plains. These architectural marvels are crafted sustainably to ensure minimal ecological impact while maximizing your connection to the wild.
Chisa stands out with its commitment to green innovation. As the only camp in the plains powered entirely by solar energy, they introduce guests to Silent Safaris. These noiseless electric drives promise intimate wildlife encounters, bringing you closer to nature’s heartbeat.
Witness the magic as elephants wander beneath the Nests at sunset, and with more lions than beds for travellers, the plains promise an exclusive wildlife experience. Celebrated by global publications like Lonely Planet and National Geographic, Chisa Busanga Camp is where luxury meets sustainability.
