Four luxury Italian hotels, endless snow-drenched slopes, world-class wellness areas and a dedicated chocolate dining room...

…just some of the highlights from our Head of Ski, Lowri Williams’ adventure to the Italian Dolomites last week. Travelling with a friend, Lowri spent an unforgettable week visiting our favourite hotels across the Italian ski resorts of Alpe di Siusi, San Casiano, Ortisei and Corvara.

“The whole week was just incredible, visiting our favourite partner hotels and exploring one of the best skiing regions in Europe – who could not love it? Although there wasn’t much snow in the village, it was perfect up the mountain. Our brilliant guide from Maison Sport took us around the iconic Sellaronda circuit in the middle of the Dolomites which takes a full day to complete if you stop for a nice lunch. We also did the Lagazuoi Hidden Valley which ended with one of the most unique experiences of my life – horses were waiting to pull us out of the valley on our skis! I won’t forget that anytime soon!”

“The best views were definitely at the COMO Alpina Dolomites in Alpe di Siusi. The area is already one of the highest ski destinations in Italy, but the COMO’s location overlooking the UNESCO-protected valley and brilliant five-star design just create the most enchanting views across the mountains. It’s also got the most incredible spa area I’ve ever seen with views for days!

“The fabulous 5-star Relais & Chateau Gardena Grödnerhof Hotel & Spa in Ortesei has recently been refurbed but they’re also now expanding the spa area too. It’s family-run and we were welcomed with a delicious Aperol spritz to drink in the sun! The staff couldn’t do enough for us, it was absolutely great and I would highly recommend sending clients there in summer as well as winter. Ortesei has a lovely alpine ski village feeling an alpine village with stunning mountain views, lovely restaurants and bars and a nice art scene.

“The Ciasa Salares in Alta Badia, is a really lovely family-run 4-star hotel, and the perfect place for the food-lover. The hotel has the most amazing wine cellar downstairs that you can book out, as well as a really cool bar, a cheese room, a dried meat room and even a chocolate room with literally hundreds of chocolates from all around the world! The best bit though is the secret door at the back which leads into the aperitif room with more brandy, tequila and gin than you can imagine.

“Ending on a high, the Hotel La Perla in Corvara was very traditional but still really cool with a chalet feel and an amazing Austrian aprés ski hut with live music every night. Once you’re at the hotel you won’t want to leave!”

Lowri recommends booking your 2024/2025 winter break now for the best choice of accommodation, flights and activities – resorts are already getting booked up!
