Adventure, enchantment and natural luxury - all delivered with a quiet, understated charm.
Located on a vast private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana’s Okavango Delta and with an enormity of wildlife diversity to offer guests, Sanctuary Baines’ Camp is one of the premium destinations in the world for a dynamic safari experience and offers a truly unique wilderness safari in Africa.
Named after the 19th-century explorer and painter Thomas Baines, this is Sanctuary’s smallest camp within Botswana, home to just five suites set on elevated platforms in the tree line, and with wooden decks that offer expansive views over the permanent water of the Boro River and a lagoon teeming with life.
The game on offer to guests is truly thrilling, with fantastic opportunities to see lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, impala, zebra, wild dog, hyena, and hippo. Guests may enjoy night-time game drives for nocturnal species or head out onto the Mokoro for a chance to explore the waterways and lagoons that make up the Okavango Delta.
Each suite comes complete with a four-poster bed, all which are fully mobile and can easily be wheeled out onto the private wooden deck overlooking the shimmering waters of the Boro River. For the ultimate indulgence, guests can enjoy a “star bath” on the deck.
Each room is equipped with a hairdryer, ceiling fan, in-room safe, minibar, and mosquito nets. Ensuite facilities include an indoor shower and double vanity.
Complimentary wireless internet access is available in all of the rooms of the camp.
The camp also has a swimming pool with two thatched salas on either side. Electricity supply is a combination of silent packed generator and battery system.
