Savile Row Travel

Welcome to the former royal hunting reserve of Chief Moremi, in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Wildlife and wilderness are as abundant as action and adrenaline and refinement and relaxation at this remarkable luxury camp. Personal service, an extraordinary setting, exceptional viewing and enthusiastic expert guides are the hallmarks of an experience at Sanctuary Chief’s Camp.

All the main and public areas of the camp are designed in a ‘safari chic’ style including a bar and library area, an extended dining room and a pizza deck with pizza oven. Guests will find an orientation room to learn more about the Delta before going on game drives as well as a gym and kids playroom.

The Camp

The 10 bush pavilions and luxury suite are some of the largest in the area (141 – 620 m2) and each feature a private dining area, a tranquil outside seating area and a terrace pool – all perfect for absorbing the surrounding plains and majestic African skies. Sanctuary Chief’s Camp’s sophisticated accommodation with natural hues and materials that complement the charismatic scenery and the first-class dining and wines, regularly earns rankings among the world’s top safari destinations from arbiters such as Condé Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure.

Modern enhancements, such as air conditioning above the bed, as well as traditional fans, are among the cut-above amenities. The bathrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and folding glass doors leading to outdoor showers and generous tubs are perfect for long, indulgent soaks. In the mood to dine alone together? Relax on your covered deck and look out for elephants, giraffes, buffalo and other wildlife as you enjoy the Camp’s excellent cuisine and wines.

The Geoffrey Kent Suite offers the utmost privacy and superlative comfort across 6,673 ft2 (620m2) pf spacious luxury. Sleeping up to six, each guest here is treated like royalty, but with discretion. Named after the explorer Geoffrey Kent, and inspired by this award-winning photographer and polo-playing philanthropist’s intrepid travels, you can expect characterful interiors as well as a kitchen, indoor lounge, private boma (‘safe enclosure’) and secluded deck areas. Included in the perks of this luxurious suite is superb service, which includes your own vehicle and dedicated guide, as well as a personal chef, waiter and a housekeeper.

Dining

Sanctuary Chief’s Camp prides itself on its personalised service and this includes your culinary preferences and needs. All meals are freshly prepared – in the middle of the African bush. Private dining is available for guests on their covered deck from where elephants, giraffes, buffalo and other wildlife can be seen. The dining area has been extended and improved, and a brand new pizza deck with pizza oven has been added. Prepare your morning coffee from the comfort of your suite with a Nespresso coffee station in every room. The rich aroma combined with the excitement of what sightings the African bush might offer today is enough to get anyone up and about.

Before departing for your morning game viewing activity enjoy a scrumptious full English and continental breakfast. Upon your return to camp, lunch is served under the trees out on the deck of the main area. The menu includes a selection of meat and vegetarian dishes, salads and freshly baked breads – all made here in the middle of the bush. Should you still feel hungry throughout the day, a snack menu is available all day with the option to order food straight to your suite. Enjoy with a delicious cup of coffee or a refreshing ice tea before setting off for your afternoon game viewing activity.

Your afternoon game drive ends with classic sundowner cocktails and canapés at a specially selected spot. There are few things as spectacular as the sight of an African sunset, especially if you are also lucky enough to hear the call of a fish eagle, as yet another day comes to an end. Return to the camp for pre-dinner drinks around the boma area as you discuss the sightings of the day with friends and family. Celebrating a special occasion? The team will arrange a romantic private dinner on your suite deck or by the pool area. Dinner might include a choice of starters such as twice baked cheese soufflé, apple and rocket salad or potato and leek soup followed by grilled beef fillet, vegetable barley, asparagus, red wine sauce or pan-fried kingklip, crushed new potatoes and greens. How could anyone resist mango panna cotta with a pineapple salsa for dessert, or maybe you would prefer a fruit or cheese platter?
