With its century-old fireplaces and an oak bar salvaged from an 1890s Yukon saloon, there is no shortage of history within these walls. On the shores of the famous pristine lake in Yoho National Park, Emerald Lake Lodge has been given the location’s award-winning dining opportunities and rustic accommodations.

Yesterday’s travellers were adventurers in search of the extraordinary, and that’s exactly what Legendary guide Tom Wilson found when he first stumbled across this small gem of a lake – famed for its jade-coloured waters – in 1882 during the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Built of hand-hewn timber and featuring massive stone fireplaces, Emerald Lake Lodge includes an elegant dining room, quiet reading and sitting rooms, conference facilities and a games room. From upper and lower verandas, the vistas of surrounding mountainscapes are breathtaking here.
Dotting the property’s 13-acre peninsula are 24 cabin-style buildings (accommodating up to 200 guests); each is designed to reflect the traditional architecture of the lodge. Emerald Lake Lodge is pleased to offer a limited number of pet-friendly accommodations.
All guest rooms provide an electronics-lite experience. You can focus on reconnecting with nature and your loved ones, free from the distractions of WiFi, your cellular phone and television.

Lodge Rooms have one queen-size bed, one king-size bed or two double beds, a spacious sitting area with comfy chairs in front of the wood-burning stone fireplace and a private balcony.
Lake View Rooms have one king-size bed, a spacious sitting area with a sofa in front of the wood-burning stone fireplace and a private balcony overlooking the lake and treed shore.
Emerald Suites are available in two configurations: studios or one-bedroom suites. Rooms have one queen-size bed, and a spacious sitting area with a sofa and chairs in front of the fireplace. Private half wrap-around balcony overlooking the lake and treed shore.
The lodge’s most exclusive suite – featuring a master bedroom with king-size bed and French doors leading to a spacious living area with a sofa couch. The room offers one-and-a-half bathrooms including a whirlpool bath, a dining area with a refrigerator, a wrap-around balcony and the premier view of Emerald Lake.

The dining room, lounge and bar offer famed Rocky Mountain Cuisine – the roots of which go back to the hearty meals prepared by European mountain guides and the lavish Victorian cooking from early CPR rail cars. CRMR dining style is the artful assemblage of Canadian ingredients such as game meats, sustainable seafood, prairie-grown grains and locally sourced vegetables. Each of the restaurants owned and operated by Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts offers a unique experience, but is unified in the promise of a sublime dining experience complete with excellent service, and carefully chosen boutique wines.

Located in the main lodge, the Kicking Horse Lounge features a selection of superb regional micro-brewed beers as well as some of the world’s finest single malt Scotches, Cognacs and Ports, the bartender behind the original 1890s Yukon Bar will take – and make – all drink requests.

Activities
Ease your stress in the gorgeous outdoor hot tub while enjoying the stunning view. During the winter months, excellent groomed cross-country skiing trails surround the lodge, as well as opportunities to snowshoe. Downhill skiing is available a short drive away. During the summer months, canoeing on the lake is a popular pastime and a variety of hikes are available which leave from the lodge’s grounds. Most of the activities at the lodge are suitable for beginners and more advanced adventurers.
