Rustic Elegance On Nature's Edge...

Immersive and captivating, the Wickaninnish Inn celebrates its rich heritage through attentive hospitality and the spirit of adventure. Perched between the ancient rainforest and the sea, their location offers unparalleled access to the true nature of Vancouver Island’s west coast.

Accommodation

The Pointe Building

Alongside the architecture of the Inn, we have incorporated furnishings, art and sculptures from local creators, in particular Henry Nolla and Maxwell Newhouse. Their work is seen in small and large features—such as our carved yellow cedar welcoming doors by Henry—and is a noteworthy aspect in creating the Inn’s personal and unique character.

The Pointe Building houses the Inn’s fine dining restaurant, The Pointe Restaurant, their On the Rocks Bar, the newly-renovated Shoreline Terrace and Howard’s Wine Cellar—an aspirational wine collection and venue. Ancient Cedars Spa, with its superlative health and wellness offerings, is also found here.

With 42 Deluxe Rooms facing east, south and west, individually, and three corner Premier Rooms facing south and west, guests can choose between a variety of accommodations, all in neighbouring proximity to amenities and getting out-of-doors.

The Beach Building

They integrated the same timeless elegance of the Pointe into the design of their “Wickaninnish-on-the-Beach,” which houses 12 suites and some larger Deluxe Rooms. Beam and detailed woodwork weave throughout the building, and there’s a signature mantle carved by Henry Nolla adorning the fireplace in every room.

From the Beach Building, guests move easily to and from the spa and restaurant in the neighbouring Pointe Building, or to explore the beach—just out the door! Inside the building, you’ll find their Lookout Library, a fully-equipped boardroom, the Fitness Centre and the coast Driftwood Cafe for morning espressos or afternoon libations.

Nourish Yourself in Wickaninnish Style...

Made from seasonal harvests and ingredients provided by local and sustainable sources, their food is fresh, flavourful and inspired

Dining

The Pointe Restaurant

Savour excellence in every dish. A fine dining experience magnified by the outstanding panoramic view of the sea rolling onto the shore, the pleasure of sharing good food in good company reaches its zenith here.

On The Rocks Bar

Open lunch to late, you’ll find a cool pint of craft brew, inventive cocktail or fine wine to complement classic fare at the Bar. Allow them to select the perfect pairing or mix something new to illuminate your palate.

Howard’s Wine Cellar

With fantastic British Columbia wines and international selections, their Wine Cellar is the best on the coast. Beautiful contemporary designs showcase their selection and create a unique space that can be reserved for intimate and special occasions.

Driftwood Cafe

Warm and inviting, their beachside café offers speciality espresso, house-baked goods and lighter fare. Come by after your morning beach walk, or settle in by the fireplace for an aperitif later in the day.

Quality, Organic Local Ingredients

They support local growers and pickers who harvest sustainably and provide incredible products. Knowing their ingredients are grown and managed with care is essential to trusting their excellence, and is a must, for their standards, for their guests and the environment.

Relax, unwind and reenergise...

Your hosts promoting the diverse heritage and spirit of the region could not happen without making your stay as comfortable as it is exciting. It’s their pleasure to provide these onsite amenities for your convenience and enjoyment.

Ancient Cedars Spa

A haven of relaxation and rejuvenation, their spa treatments focus on mind and body wellness. Start your mornings with a private yoga class or treat yourself to a massage or reflexology treatment. Choose from our à la carte menu or as a package for some special romantic touches or as a nourishing retreat.

Fitness Room

If you need an indoor alternative to burn extra energy, you’re invited to use their Fitness Centre. A selection of free weights and a Paramount MP Series universal station are available for building strength and muscle tone. For a cardio workout, jump on a treadmill, stationary bike or elliptical machine. Yoga mats and pilates balls are also provided.

Volvo XC90 T8 Test Drive

Guests of the Inn have the chance to test-drive their Volvo XC90 T8 for a two-hour block per person. Take it on a jaunt to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve or the neighbouring town of Ucluelet – be their guest, literally. When making your room reservation with them, simply ask about booking a test drive, and they’ll take it from there. Of course, some conditions do apply – please note that this service is available exclusively to holders of a valid Canadian-issued driver’s license, as per Volvo Canada.

Bikes

The most fun you can have on two wheels! From May long weekend until Labour Day, guests are encouraged to take their complimentary Priority Cycle bikes out for a ride along the Multi-Use Path and into town (available on a first-come, first-served basis). You’ll notice it’s the most popular way for locals to get around, too. Stop for ice cream or fish and chips en route and simply drop the bike back with them when you’re home.

Shuttle Service

For pick-up or drop-off in and around the town of Tofino, the Inn offers a shared Shuttle Service between 9am and 5pm. If you’re coming back from a whale-watching excursion, let them welcome you. Enjoy a glass of wine with lunch at one of Tofino’s amazing restaurants, they will gladly escort you back here when you’re done.

Henry Nolla’s Carving Shed

Meander down North Chesterman Beach in the direction of Frank Island, and you will come across Henry Nolla’s Carving Shed, nestled in the trees on the Inn’s property just south of the Beach Building. Much of the adze work found throughout the Wickaninnish Inn was completed by Henry right here on Chesterman Beach. While he passed in 2004, his legacy continues. Be sure to pop in and see the latest works from those who learned from and worked alongside Henry.

Lookout Library

This home to a selection of historic artifacts and business centre is perched overlooking Chesterman Beach. Watch surfers braving winter storm waves or get up early to enjoy the sunrise from this quiet corner.

Henry Nolla Art Gallery

Tofino is a haven for artistic talent. Take a moment to look into the Henry Nolla Art Gallery by our Driftwood Café. Here we feature three to four artists at a time—painters, woodworkers, stoneworkers and photographers—rotating work every four to six months.

Trails & Beach

Surrounded by ancient forest that ends at piled driftwood on the shoreline, you can simply walk out the Inn’s doors to find yourself amongst the ferns and salal or on the sand. Their trail network winds through the old-growth trees on the property with plenty of special corners and plants to identify. Join them on a complimentary Saturday morning nature walk with Long Beach Tours- sign up early to reserve your spot! Don’t worry, if your visit lands on a stormy day, they supply the rain gear to keep you dry.
