A luxurious, authentic and family-owned ski resort in Italy

Nestled in the heart of Italy’s Dolomites, Ciasa Salares is a family-owned ski and summer resort that offers an authentic Alpine experience, renowned for its exceptional service, luxe accommodations, and gourmet dining. Situated near the picturesque village of San Cassiano, Ciasa Salares is an ideal base for exploring the stunning landscapes around. The resort offers a range of outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, and mountain biking, making it a perfect choice for adventure seekers all year round. Particularly notable is its wine cellar, which features a robust selection of over 1,200 wines and champagnes.  Environmental respect and thoughtful historical touches are evident throughout the hotel which has been designed to utilise local resources such as high-quality, local, untreated fir, stone pine and larch.

The hotel has been owned by the Wieser Family since the 1930s, with Grandmother Emma and Grandmother Teresa. Their love for hospitality has endured for almost one hundred years. The passion and respect for the raw materials, scents and tastes, the consistencies and colours, have all been passed at mother’s knee. The “grandparents”, Hilda and Paoli, are the pillars of the hotel, which was built up from scratch in the 1960s. They have handed on their business to their first-born son Stefan who, along with his wife Wilma and their son Jan Clemens, continue the family tradition. Jan Clemens now represents the fourth generation to continue with this love for hospitality.

Dining

COCUN Cellar Restaurant

Meaning “bottle cork” in Ladino, COCUN’s name itself embodies the soul of this wine-cellar restaurant. And what a wine cellar it is too, with over 1900 labels, 24,000 bottles from every corner of the world and, owing to an unfailing search for the best wines that can be found, an annual inventory ratio that borders on 35%. COCUN is a dream brought to life by Jan Clemens, fourth generation member of the Wieser family, who has transformed the wine cellar of the family’s Ciasa Salares hotel into a charismatic, captivating, top-class restaurant. The spirit and soul of the restaurant is his deep bond with his homeland and the Ladino traditions, alongside his all-round experience in global excellence, and an open ear for his customers’ wishes. The result is a vibrant, easy-going venue with the highest of standards.

Infini

A youthful, dynamic concept, Infini is the perfect venue for hearty, home-cooked cuisine, mouthwatering light bites, and the only place where you can find a genuine Club Sandwich on one of the sunniest terraces in all Alta Badia. During winter weekends, Infini bounces with life, to the beats of DJ Arolla. The live set from midday to 3 pm does more than just add ambience to your lunch – you’ll be itching to get up and dance!

Bona Lüna

A fun and friendly venue for every occasion, from early-evening aperitifs to after-dinner drinks. If you want to sit back and enjoy an aperitif served with mouthwatering appetisers, the bar terrace is the place to be. And to draw the evening to a perfect close, an array of select rums, cognacs and spirits awaits, with a fine after-dinner cigar if you fancy it…

Sorí Restaurant

A good day starts with a good breakfast: traditional breads, a spread of cheeses and cold meats laid out in the dining room, wild salmon with a glass of bubbly, homemade jams… not to mention the vast array of cakes and bakes, fresh cold-pressed and centrifugal juices and eggs served just the way you want them. There’s also an extra-special corner for organic-dietetic products (low-calorie, low in fat, yeast-free, gluten-free etc). The evening menu features a four-course menu, each course with a choice of three dishes. Grandma Hilda will then help decide on your choice of cheeses, served with chutneys and honeys. At the dessert buffet you could practically lose yourself in the kaleidoscope of colours, consistencies and shapes of cakes and bakes, all of which are made on the premises, fresh every day

NIDA Cheese Room

The revolution starts here, with graffiti-emblazoned walls and shelves stocked exclusively with unpasteurised cheese – 65 raw-milk cheese from every corner of the Boot. All products are sourced from uncontaminated alpine pastures, with a strong focus on the two of the best, and oldest, cheese making regions in Italy: Piedmont and Lombardy. Naturally, they also stock the best of European cheeses, as well as a variety of jams, honey and chutneys.

NODLA Chocolate Room

Transported back to childhood: The intense, unmistakable aroma envelops you from the moment you enter, beckoning you into a world of 120 different kinds of chocolate. In selecting the range, the family kept their philosophy firmly in line with their taste preferences, focusing on the best chocolate producers and cocoa bean growers in the world: South America and Africa. Chocolate ranges from 30% to 100%, to toasted cocoa beans and a wide array of flavoured chocolates including liquorice, chilli pepper and mint, and a chocolate-coated range featuring ginger, orange, lemon and fig. There are also two types of white chocolate (Fair Trade from Peru and white chocolate with Piedmont hazelnuts) as well as luscious chocolate spreads with gianduja and Cervia sea salt – pure paradise!

Experiences

EGA Wellness

EGA Wellness is a place to rediscover yourself, to listen to your body, to regenerate energies through special paths and to indulge in relaxing treatments. The chromo-path that leads to the Ega Wellness – red imperial cimbro, green bluish Etruria, yellow chrome and yellow of Naples – will prepare you for an experience like no other. The design has been conceived by Wilma Wieser, the architect Francesca Arra and Helmut Pizzinini, who also realized the paintings, using only pure pigments and restoration techniques. The sculptures in the relaxing area are in steel inox and are reproduced by a free hand sketch. The furnishing complements are made on exclusive sketch by native artisan hands. EGA Wellness is fully furnished with multifunction cabins for high performance beauty treatments and massages. The spa features an outdoor sauna, hot tub, Turkish bath, Finnish sauna, infrared cabin, solarium, whirlpool bath, infusion corner, indoor pool and fitness centre.

Fondue

One of the best things about a skiing holiday: fondue. The fondues proposed in the hotel’s wine cellar have achieved resounding success from visitors, so it’s well worth a try! Choose from the Fondue Chinoise (vegetable stock, three different fillets of meat, seven homemade sauces, potato salad) or the Cheese Fondue (croutons, boiled potatoes, gherkins, fried polenta, beetroot, tender creamy onion, and cold cuts). Closed on Wednesdays. Available upon reservation only.

Wine Tasting

Jan Clemens is ready to guide you through the tantalising world of the Wine and share some of the secrets that make oenology so fascinating. Choose from various combinations of red, white and snack or cheese tasting. The experience is available everyday at 6.00 pm, closed on Wednesday.

Grappa Tasting

After a long day hiking or skiing, there is nothing better than a good grappa in front of the bonfire. Join the experts on Sundays at 9pm in the garden to taste some Italian grappas and unwind at leisure (free of charge for hotel guests).
