Savile Row Travel

Pangkor Laut Resort is THE ultimate beach resort getaway.

Situated on its own private island of 300 acres, the resort is the only dwelling on the whole island leaving the remaining 80% as lush rainforest. Three miles off the mainland and reached by Pangkor Laut’s ferry or private speed boat, this resort really has seclusion beyond almost any other and it’s not hard to see why Pavarotti fell in love with the place.

Resort

Only a small fraction of the island’s 300 acres have been developed to house the resort and its estate properties, comprising a cluster of pavilions interconnected by flagged stone pathways, wooden bridges, decks, ponds, gardens and rock steps. The resort is home to the award-winning Spa Village, tennis and squash courts, a gift shop and library. Should you wish to venture away from the pure luxury of your estate, the vibrant atmosphere of Pangkor Laut Resort is located just a few minutes away by private chauffeur-driven car. Emerald Bay, one of the resort’s beaches, is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. A new B&B board basis has recently been introduced, allowing you to truly customise your stay here whilst still enjoying all of the resort’s facilities.

Rooms

The Beach, Garden and Hill Villas, situated accordingly, are similar in size, have just been renovated, and are of exceptional quality. The three suites comprise of two Sea Suites over the water and the Pavarotti Suite situated on the hillside. Finally, for the ultimate in luxury, there are the Pangkor Laut Estates: each private residence estate consists of two to four bedrooms spread between linked buildings, each offering dramatic views of the island’s breath-taking landscape. They all have their own private pools for you to relax and unwind in splendid isolation. A personal butler is always on hand to ensure every attention to detail is looked after: at your request they will arrange personalised dining experiences and massages in the privacy of your own villa and your private chef will prepare a wide range of dishes to cater for all tastes and requirements.

The Spa and Sea Villas form the image for which the resort is probably best known – these being situated on stilts over water.

Spa

The award-winning Spa Village practises therapies from India, China and Malaysia as well as offering an extensive spa menu which covers more generic treatments such as Swedish massage and reflexology. The real bonus for our clients is the Indian spa menu which is purely Ayurvedic, making Pangkor Laut one of the few resorts outside India and Sri Lanka to offer an holistic Ayurveda programme.

Dining & Leisure

The dining options are verging on excessive for a resort of this size but that is the luxury that Pangkor Laut affords you – unrivalled quality in a wide range of venues. Amongst four eateries (and a further two during the day), the new and unique Feast Village is a culinary adventure area which showcases a mouth-watering selection of delightful cuisine from the Asia region. The new Strait’s Restaurant, set against the rocks over the water provides some of the finest Strait’s cuisine drawn from Malay and Thai influence.

Other activities available include sailing, water-skiing, kayaking, golf, fishing, jungle walks and cookery classes.

For the ultimate indulgence, why not book a helicopter transfer directly from Kuala Lumpur Airport to the resort. However you choose to travel to this island paradise, when you arrive you will be totally blown away with what is, beyond doubt, one of the world’s finest private island resorts.

Map and travel information

You reach Pangkor Laut after landing at Kuala Lumpur Airport and taking a four hour drive to Lumut where a speedboat will whisk you to your room in 20 minutes. Alternatively, why not take a helicopter, one way or both, which takes around an hour and lands at the resort directly.

Malaysia is well known for its beautiful beaches, rainforests and rich mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and European influences. The sprawling capital, Kuala Lumpur, is home to colonial buildings, busy shopping districts and skyscrapers such as the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. Home to many festivals throughout the year, there is always something exciting to see or do in Malaysia. Pangkor Laut is a privately owned island located three miles off the west coast of Malaysia, along the Straits of Malacca. This piece of paradise has been two million years in the making and here you will find one of the world’s premier resorts, nestling in the shade of forest giants as old as the land.
