Savile Row Travel

Six stunning canalside mansions have been converted to comprise the Waldorf Astoria, with many 17th and 18th century features remaining that have been beautifully combined with a modern luxurious style. Admire the stunning 60m marble and stucco staircase whilst Rococo touches abound and 17th century paintings adorn the walls. Modern Murano glass lamps and chandeliers hang alongside calming blues and creams to give the overall impression of pared back opulence.

Location

Perfectly located on one of Amsterdam’s most impressive canals, the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is a short walk to many of the city’s highlights including the Rijksmuseum (15 minutes), the Dam/Royal Palace (15 minutes), Negen Straatjes shopping (12 minutes), FOAM photography museum, and Museum Van Loon (under five minutes).

Accommodation

A selection of twelve room types are available ranging from King Deluxe to Twin Premier, offering spacious accommodation and views of gardens or the canal. Suites include the Backer suite which has a canal view, separate living room, king-sized bed, a painted ceiling and stunning views of the iconic Herengracht. The Roell suite is larger and also has a canal view and separate living room, king-sized bed, two authentic in-room decorative fireplaces, additional bathroom facilities and a comfortable sofa in the living area. For direct and exclusive access to the Guerlain Spa, we recommend the Van Loon suite which has both garden and city views, a 17th century spiral staircase, an elegantly furnished separate living room and bedroom with king-sized bed.

Dining

The Librije’s Zusje restaurant has two Michelin stars and offers guests the opportunity to sample extraordinary dishes inspired by the head chef’s eight years spent in Hong Kong. The finest local produce is combined with interesting and rare ingredients and techniques to make dining here a memorable experience.

Lunches and dinners are available at the hotel’s Goldfinch Brasserie overlooking the hotel’s peaceful gardens and high tea is a treat at the blue and gold-hued Peacock Alley lounge where you can enjoy the classic Waldorf salad. The Vault bar offers a selection of classic and new cocktails in a beautiful setting.

Spa

A stay at the hotel would not be complete without a visit to the sublime Guerlain Spa where you can indulge in a range of treatments designed to relax and pamper. With direct access to the lush gardens, we recommend one of the spa’s signature treatments using Guerlain products together with a restorative glass of champagne, to completely switch off. All guests have access to the hotel’s sauna, steam room, relaxation room and swimming pool.
