Savile Row Travel

When a dazzling array of wildlife isn’t enough, it’s possible to make a safari of a lifetime all the more memorable with a beautifully unique suite.

Born in January 2017, The Bush Rover migration camps have been described as the coolest innovation in nomadic safari since the camel: Exquisitely engineered fully working Land Rovers that, once in-situ, fold-out into perhaps the most individual bush camp you’ll ever stay in.

Each of the Bush Rovers has a beautiful elevated bedroom atop of an Old School Land Rover, with a balcony looking out to the wilderness- the perfect vantage point for spotting game and sleeping under the stars. Each Rover also comes complete with a wood-paneled bathroom, solar-powered hot water, lights and power sockets to recharge your batteries. What more could you want?

But, most importantly, unlike fixed camps and lodges, the Bush Rovers move to the right places to provide the safari of a lifetime, to ensure you experience splendid isolation in total comfort. When the wildebeest migrate, so do the Rovers. The camp folds up and moves to the next exciting area within the Serengeti destination leaving no trace of you ever even being there.

Locations

Serengeti Camps

The Bush Rover seasonal camps are set up in three stunning private sites in the Serengeti in the heart of the great wildebeest migration. Each private site has just 5 Bush Rover suites and a lovely dining mess tent. From mid-May to mid-July the Bush Rover camp is on the Grumeti river, in the western corridor of the Serengeti. From here it moves to a stunning site right on the Mara River in the far north of Serengeti close to a wildebeest crossing point but away from the crowds where it remains until the end of October. In December, the camp follows the wildebeest down to the southeast of Serengeti to Kusini and stays here until late March. The goal is to be right in the heart of the best wildlife activity but away from the crowds.

Selous Camp

In the heart of the great Selous Game Reserve is a small camp with just three Bush Rover suites and a dining mess tent, set each season on a beautiful deserted lake. The lake is full of hippo and crocs with an abundance of wildlife coming down to the lakeside each day to drink. One can sit on the balcony of a Bush Rover suite and watch a beautiful wildlife scene without ever leaving the camp.
