Savile Row Travel

Basking on the secluded shores of an 18,000-acre nature reserve, Amanyara’s lush tropical pavilions and villas overlook half a mile of white sand beaches and the turquoise waters of Providenciales’ North West Point Marine National Park. A retreat for all ages, the resort offers restorative wellness retreats and endless possibilities for discovery above and below the waves.

Amanyara, meaning ‘peaceful place’, is a secluded beachside resort from the fabulous Aman hotel group in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The property’s white-sand beach and rocky coves are acclaimed for some of the world’s best wall and reef diving, while the stunning resort prides itself on its exceptional levels of service.

Accommodation

Amanyara’s Pavilions are nestled in coastal vegetation, overlooking ponds or peaceful beaches of Northwest Point Marine Reserve, while the resort’s three to six bedroom Villas offer consummate privacy with rooms set around a black infinity pool. All stays include a bottle of Champagne on arrival, in-room refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages, daily scheduled wellness classes, use of all non-motorised water-sports equipment, complimentary daily snorkelling, and daily afternoon tea including pastries and snacks at The Bar.

Villas

Amanyara’s Villas offer consummate privacy and space in natural surroundings. Generously proportioned living areas and two to six bedrooms are set around a black infinity pool and hardwood deck. Overlooking reflective ponds and gardens, several feature ocean views while others offer direct beach access. All are serviced by villa hosts, and the three-to-six-bedroom villas are also serviced by personal chefs.

Pavilions

Dovetailing with the dramatic Providenciales scenery, Amanyara’s Pavilions are nestled in coastal vegetation, overlooking ponds or the waters of Northwest Point Marine Reserve. Overhanging eaves shade terraces on three sides of each Pavilion, accessed via floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to a combined bedroom and living area. Some offer private pools and two bedrooms, while others offer pathways that lead directly to the beach.

Activities

Scuba Diving

With a 27km (17 mile) barrier reef that runs the length of the island’s northeast coastline, Providenciales provides a host of world-class dive sites. Located directly in front of the resort are the remarkable coral reef walls of Northwest Point Marine National Park.

Snorkelling

Snorkelling can be enjoyed off the beach at Amanyara. The sandy bottom declines gradually until the reef wall drops to 2,100m (6,888ft). A complimentary guided snorkelling trip departs daily from the beach.

Fishing

Providenciales and its neighbouring islands and cays boast some of the finest fishing grounds in the Caribbean. Notable among potential catches are the elusive bonefish and the Atlantic blue marlin.

Turtle Tagging

The Amanyara Turtle Initiative helps safeguard the green and hawksbill turtle populations of the islands. Join expert naturalists to tag and release turtles in the wild.

Whale Watching

Between the months of February and April, migrating humpback whales can be spotted just offshore from Amanyara.

Watersports

Clear turquoise water and powder-white beaches make the Turks and Caicos a premier watersport destination. Amanyara offers a variety of equipment including Hobie Cats, boogie boards, SUPs and kayaks.

The Island

Half-day excursions explore places of interest such as the historic plantation ruins at Cheshire Hall, Caicos Conch Farm, rock carvings at Sapodilla Hill and the ‘Hole’, a mysterious sinkhole.

Golf

The Providenciales Golf Club is a 35-minute drive from Amanyara and is rated among the top 10 courses in the Caribbean.

Dining

The Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves classic Asian and modern Mediterranean dishes with fresh seafood a speciality. It is air-conditioned with both indoor and outdoor seating, and has a terrace and deck with sweeping ocean and reflected pond views.

The Bar is open all day and serves light meals and refreshments. Its circular design with a centrally positioned bar and oversized daybeds means you can make the most of the panoramic ocean and pool views.

The Beach Club is also open throughout the day and serves casual beach fare with Latin American and Mediterranean flavours. There is a stone hearth oven and the club is set on a dune at the southern end of the beach, where it hosts cooking demonstrations and wine/rum tastings.

Spa and Fitness

The spa has four treatment rooms, its own 108ft swimming pool, a relaxation pavilion and a boutique. It offers an extensive spa menu of massages and beauty treatments using organic Aman skincare products.

A pilates studio is fully fitted with reformers and other Pilates-specific equipment, which can be used to perform the Erika Bloom-method. An outdoor yoga sala is adjacent to the pool.

The fitness centre has a full range of cardiovascular and strength-training equipment with personal training programmes available. The Club House has four floodlit Har-tru clay tennis courts, a multi-sport field, volleyball court and golf simulator.

Facilities

The hotel’s swimming pool is 164ft x 26ft and has uninterrupted ocean views. It is wrapped in an expansive timber deck with sun loungers and is framed by two lounging salas with a third located closer to the oceanfront.

A Nature Discovery Centre provides hands-on learning experiences for adults and children with programmes designed by the American Museum of Natural History’s Science and Nature Departments. Onsite naturalists will assist and encourage you to take part in turtle tagging, guided snorkelling and diving, plus kayaking.

The Library has a broad selection of reading materials and games, and is located overlooking the beautiful central reflection pond.

A boutique showcases the region’s best art, jewellery and handicrafts. Destination books, resort wear and conveniences are also available.
