Savile Row Travel

On the banks of the Zambezi, 40 minutes from Victoria Falls, Waterberry Lodge is a small and informal lodge famous for friendly Zambian hospitality.

Upriver from the iconic Victoria Falls, on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, Zambia’s Waterberry Lodge welcomes you to your home from home in the peaceful heart of the wild. It’s seven thatched en-suite cottages, a secluded river farm house and private tented encampment are the definition of rustic luxury.

Being different is Waterberry’s unique charm. We reinvented the existing group of cottages scattered around the garden and pool, rebuilt the farmhouse and introduced forest tents amongst the trees – using Zambian skills and an imaginative combination of materials to create a home from home that is genuinely different from everywhere else you will find on your safari. All run with the unbeatable 5-star Zambian charm and service that is our signature.

A stay at Waterberry Lodge is the perfect addition to any African safari adventure.

Accommodation at Waterberry Lodge

Waterberry Zambezi Lodge

A collection of seven thatched cottages, all different, stylishly bright, and perfectly adapted to your needs. Sit and watch the river go by, or relax on your own veranda with a good book or a pair of binoculars.

The main lodge building has a large and airy upstairs viewing lounge overlooking the river. Inside and outside dining space with sociable lounging furniture on tiered decks make for the central meeting place for guests – for briefings, for meals and for swapping stories over drinks around the fire pit.

The River Farmhouse

Live the life of luxury in this private riverside house where nothing is too much trouble for the dedicated household team to help you have the holiday of a lifetime. With three en suite bedrooms and one two-bedroom suite, River Farmhouse sleeps 8 – 10.

The gardens are a stunning part of the experience – lawns, trees, flower borders and a beautiful infinity pool.

The Woodlands

A wooded sanctuary retreat where impala graze and birdlife thrives. With just three secluded tents, this intimate site is also perfect for exclusive group bookings.

The Woodlands is perfect for birders who want peace and quiet to sit among the trees and observe. It’s also wonderful for anyone wanting that special wilderness feeling without sacrificing comfort and luxury.

What to do at Waterberry

No stay at Waterberry Lodge is complete with out a trip to the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls,  just 40 minutes away. At high water the Falls shake the ground, the spray is visible 30 miles away and you’re guaranteed a heavy shower as you walk the pathways. Mid-season rainbows are a photographer’s dream, as is the vast rocky canyon with individual torrents at low water.

Visit Mosi oa Tunya National Park, downstream from Waterberry Lodge, the only wildlife area in Zambia with wild White Rhino. Take a sunset cruise, drifting down the Zambezi into the setting sun, camera in hand, with sundowners and snacks. Expert guides will take you around the Waterberry riverbank and woodland areas to see an amazing collection of birds.

Visit Livingstone, the former capital of Zambia where some fascinating architecture remains. In the museum you can actually pull out and read David Livingstone’s handwritten letters!

Adrenaline adventurers will love the white water rafting, bungee jump & gorge swing. Or perhaps simply rather more sedately canoe the river. See the landscape by horseback, by helicopter or by The Royal Livingstone Express steam train.
