Savile Row Travel

Easy driving, perfect beaches, spectacular views and luxury hotels; how could you resist a Florida road trip? The long coastline of the iconic Sunshine State awaits, with endless activities, attractions and beautiful landscapes, just waiting to be explored by car!

Begin your adventure by flying into Jacksonville Airport and checking in to the opulent Ritz-Carton Amelia Island, where coastal luxury meets authentic charm. Located on the barrier island beaches of North Florida, you’ll become connected with the peaceful flow of natural waterways and native sand dunes, relaxing in the tides of wellness with unique services inspired by the sea. The pristine coastline provides a picturesque backdrop for the 18-hole Championship golf course, an array of water-sports, and spectacular boat trips around the island.

Don’t forget to take a day to visit the fascinating museums, forts and natural paths which dot the area. The Amelia Island Museum of History is an excellent stop to get your introduction into the wild and wonderful history of the island. Stop for lunch at the locally-famous T-Rays Burger Station for some of the best fried shrimp you’ll ever eat. Speaking of food, why not join one of the wonderful food and drink tours of historic downtown Fernandina Beach, and meet the owners, chefs and bartenders who fill this quaint downtown with delicious eats, delightful cocktails, character and charm.

Drive 3 hours south along the Palm Coast to Orlando, arriving in the serenity of the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes Resort, a peaceful haven only 20 minutes from the buzz of Disney World. Surrender yourself to the oasis-like spa and indulge in fine dining while the kids explore the Grande Lakes Waterpark with waterslides and a lazy river and the Ritz Kids program. Central Florida is a melting pot of world-renowned theme parks, breathtaking natural beauty and pristine golf courses, a perfect stop for the whole family. While here, explore the Everglades on a sunrise safari, wander through Orlando’s vibrant art scene, and hop on scheduled shuttles to Disney, Universal Orlando and Seaworld.

Continue the drive south across Alligator Alley towards Naples – home to jaw-dropping wildlife including alligators, river otters and pink spoonbills. Arrive at the Ritz-Carlton Naples, a sun-soaked beach location home to a sunset that must be experienced to be believed. As a guest, indulge in luxury spa treatments inspired by the local garden and sea and sample exquisite dining influenced by the Gulf of Mexico’s bounty. Should you decide to venture slightly further afield, the hotel provides access to some of the area’s most noteworthy attractions – from the exclusive high-end shopping street of 5th Avenue, dining and art galleries of the downtown district to the wonders of nearby Clam Pass Beach Park, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and the Naples Botanical Garden. No visit is complete without witnessing a magnificent sunset from Naples Pier, just moments away.

Next, head cross-country to the East Coast of Florida, hopping the short distance from downtown Miami to The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne. Stretching along the beachfront, this luxury hotel is an opportunity to experience Miami living with redesigned ocean-view residences and suites, the renowned Cliff Drysdale Tennis Centre, a Caribbean-inspired resort spa and Lightkeepers restaurant serving local Floridian seafood. Key Biscayne remained largely undeveloped until 1947, when the Rickenbacker Causeway was built to connect the island to Miami. Years later, the US’s southernmost barrier island is easily accessible but remains quietly tranquil and secluded. During your stay, visit Downtown Miami’s waterfront Museum Park, home to the leading Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. Discover the magnificent planetarium, aquarium, north and west wings to learn all about the core science behind the solar system, the human body and much more! The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens are also worth a visit if time allows. A National Historic Landmark, this European-inspired estate includes a Main House filled with art and furnishings, ten acres of gardens on Biscayne Bay, a hardwood hammock and a charmingly-restored historic village.

Jump back in the car for your final half-hour journey back into downtown Miami and over to South Beach, known for its picture-perfect beaches, celebrity-chef eateries and glamorous nightlife. Ocean Drive, known for its art deco architecture, is home to several outdoor cafes offering ringside views of the unique Miami scene. Explore the historic 1920s art deco district, with its pops of colour, architectural lines, curves and fountains, between 5th and 23rd Street, and along Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue. Daily walking tours wander around the area, providing a detailed narrative to accompany your journey.

The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach epitomises Miami glamour, welcoming travellers to one of the country’s most alluring cities with a classic cocktail lounge, an elevated pool overlooking the Atlantic and a rejuvenating, fully-serviced spa.
